Interface Catheter Solutions New MBS-200 Marker Band Swager Offers Superior Performance and Improved Reliability for Catheter Production

  Tags:

Laguna Niguel, CA, January 10, 2009 – The new MBS-200 Marker Band Swager enhances catheter production by providing reduced operating set-up time, expedited catheter advancement speed and decreased cycle times. The MBS-200 is compact and clean room ready with the same superior 360° swaging performance for gradual and smooth diameter reduction of marker bands for no striations or deformations to the swaged parts.

The improved one-piece swaging die design simplifies set-up and operation and is easy to maintain for repeatable use. The one-piece die along with the new safety cover reduces overall wear and maintenance for enhanced production quality. The safety cover lessens operating noise and cover removal operates a lock-out feature.

The MBS-200 is simple to operate with front panel adjustments for catheter advancement speed, distance between marker bands, as well as swaging and clamp pressure. The new machine increases the range between marker bands up to 175 mm to accommodate the majority of balloon catheter requirements. The catheter shaft speed advancement through the automatic feed mechanism has been improved with a resolution to 0.1 mm/s with a maximum feed of 20 mm/s. The machine reduces overall swaging cycle time to less than 15 seconds for 2 marker bands separated by 5 cm, increasing catheter productivity.

The new MBS-200 Marker Band Swager will be shown at the Interface Booth (2421) at the MD&M West Exhibition and Conference in Anaheim, CA on February 10-12.
