Tech Note: Confluent Medical Technologies Expands Manufacturing to Support New Customer Programs

Confluent Medical Technologies, a leading contract manufacturer of specialized Nitinol devices, balloon catheters and guidewires, has expanded its Costa Rica manufacturing operations to accommodate increased customer demand for finished medical devices. The Costa Rica facility, with over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space and ample ISO 8 cleanroom capacity, will produce more than 500,000 balloon catheters annually in addition to a variety of Nitinol-based components and guidewires.

Confluent Medical’s expanded manufacturing facility is located in the Coyol Free Zone in Alajuela, Costa Rica, a regional hub for medical device, biotech and specialty pharma companies. Since 2010, the facility has developed a reputation for exceptional quality and on-time delivery, providing contract manufacturing of Nitinol-based devices and components, balloon catheters and guidewires for the largest medical device companies in the world.
